Richmond Way begins at Lancaster Castle and is a 60 mile walk through the
stunning scenery of Lune Valley, the moors and fells of the central Pennines
and the Yorkshire Dales, ending at the stunning North Yorkshire town of
Richmond in Swaledale.
The Richmond Way walking trail was devised by John Coppack and is combination of public footpaths , ancient tracks and quiet country lanes, making a walking route that is easy to follow.

the Richmond Way walking holiday from Lancaster Castle
you follow the River Lune upstream to Hornby and then the River Greta
to the North Yorkshire town of Ingleton.
From Ingleton you will see waterfalls and glens as the walking trail enters Limestone Country with stunning moors and hills.
The famous Ribblehead viaduct is a highlight of this section.
The walking tail then enters The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the famous dales of Raydale and Wensleydale, the largest of all the dales.
The little Yorkshire town of Askrigg is a must
for all fans of the James Herriot TV series.
The final section of the walk follows the River Swale to Richmond
ending at the historic Richmond Castle gates.
